Introduction

About Me

I am a magician.

By this I do not mean that I entertain people for money by doing astounding tricks, or that I purport to have powers which disprove generally accepted physical theories. I mean that I have studied the arts and sciences of observing the nature of events, ascertaining the properties which are relevant, and influencing them effectively - even when these things are counterintuitive, or downright incredible.

I am not, as it happens, a particularly good magician.

About You

If you're here, you're probably looking for something. I sincerely hope that you find something, and that there is a relationship between what you found and what you were looking for.

About This Document

This document is officially entitled "Some Stuff". There is no truth this week, and if there were, it wouldn't look anything like this.

I'm pretty sure I wrote this document. Superficially, it bears only the most passing resemblance to what I originally planned to write, but in the important respects I think it is almost exactly what it needs to be.

Don't expect it to be easy to read, or even to make much sense at first (or ever!) It jumps around from straightforward commentaries to surreal stories with no apologies or explanations. I wrote it this way because this was the way it wanted to be written, because grey is the most common color for squirrels in New England, and because the number seven comes between six and eight.
